A custom residential home recently completed on a premier lake lot in SC. The design melds its modern form into the rolling topography. Nearly every space is arranged to take in the the sweeping views of the lake.

Demolishing a dilapidated building made way for this downtown event center with parking and main entry in the rear. We used salvaged bricks to create a story for this modern event space, showing it as a retrofitted train station.

The narrow lot, smushed between a noisy road and a gorgeous lake view, required some ingenuity with regard to sound isolation. It might look like there’s windows on the front, but that’s because the shutters are telling lies. Windows are a weak link in sound control, and isolating traffic noise from the serenity of the lake experience was of upmost importance to the owners. We used double walls and green glue and the resulting STC was off the charts!

The design of this home offers multiple views of Lake Keowee. A short bridge to the main entry allows natural light to filter down to the basement wall that would otherwise have to be artificially lit.

A new direction in mountain design. Larger than average windows let the outdoors in much more so than neighboring mountain homes.

White is for weddings. This new wedding venue in Taylors, SC has it all - ceremony space, separate reception space, catering kitchen, and a groom’s room just far enough from the bridal suite to keep things copasetic.

Shade is the best suncreen, so we employed large overhangs and clerestory windows to bring in indirect light. The high windows also provide wall space and further serve to keep occupants' attention on the decor and merchandise.

A series of additions elevated what was originally designed as a guest house into a luxurious retreat near the top of Toxaway Mountain.

Perched above the Walker Golf Course with long range views of Clemson’s campus, the original house had untapped potential, to put it kindly.

Designed to compliment the existing Rec Center, this glulam structure included durable handicap restrooms.

At the risk of sounding cliche, opening up the existing disjointed spaces really did the trick.

To preserve some of the originality of our client’s newly purchased lake home (and to save some money), they decided to keep many features of the house, but some quirks needed to go… such as 8ft ceilings in the public spaces, a corner kitchen, and a depressing entry.
